Why do certain candles appear smaller than the others?

While all candles are poured with equal measures of wax, every holder is handcrafted, hence there may be slight differences that give a unique charm and make the candles appear slightly bigger or smaller.

What are your candles made with?

Our candles are made with a custom blend of beeswax, soy and coconut wax. Our products do not contain paraffin.

Do you use essential oils?

We use a blend of essential oils and premium, clean fragrance oils specifically formulated for candles. All our fragrances are free from phthalates, parabens, and other harmful chemicals associated with health risks, including cancer.

Can the vessels be re-used?

Yes, When there is about 1/4 inch of wax left, stop burning the candle.

Be careful when removing the remaining wax and wicks. We recommend using a firm silicone utensil to gently scrape out the wax and wick (avoid using knives or other metal tools).

Dispose the wax in the trash - never pour it down the drain or into a garbage disposal. Afterwards, place the container in hot soapy water to loosen any residue, then wash, rinse and dry it thoroughly.

Note: We assume no liability for candle containers or subsequent results of reuse by the consumer, once purchased.

Through our Full Circle Programme, you can also return your finished Mittsu Doru candle vessel to us and receive $20 off your next candle. This gives you a way to enjoy another scent without accumulating more vessels, while allowing us to keep the ceramics in circulation.

How does the Full Circle Programme work?

When your candle has burned its last flame, clean out your vessel and bring it back to us. You’ll receive $20 off your next candle, so you can choose your next scent while giving your vessel another life.

We’ll announce our upcoming pop-ups on Instagram, where you can meet us and return your vessel in person. If we don't have a pop-up coming up, simply DM us on Instagram or use our contact form and we'll arrange a separate time to meet, at your convenience.

Where are your products made?

Our candles and fragrance products are handmade and hand-poured in Singapore, in small batches.

Each piece is made with care from start to finish, from preparing the fragrance to pouring, finishing and packing your order.

Who makes your ceramic vessels?

Our ceramic vessels are made in collaboration with independent ceramic artists in Indonesia.

Each vessel is individually handcrafted, giving every piece its own subtle variations in form, texture and finish.

These imperfections are part of the charm of handmade ceramics — no two pieces are exactly alike.

Are your products handmade?

Yes. Every Mittsu Doru product is made by hand in small batches in Singapore. Our candles are hand-poured, while our ceramic vessels are individually handcrafted by ceramic artists we work with in Indonesia.

Because of this, small variations are natural and make each piece uniquely yours.
