Hi, we're Mittsu Doru.
Mittsu Doru started with a simple idea: that the little moments in our everyday lives are worth slowing down for.
A quiet morning. Coming home after a long day. Sitting down with a cup of tea. Having friends over. Sometimes, it's the smallest moments that make a day feel good.
We wanted to make scents that could become part of those moments.
That's really what Mittsu Doru is about.
Mittsu Doru was created around this idea — that scent can help us pause, notice where we are, and appreciate the everyday a little more.
Why scent?
We’ve always loved how a scent can bring you somewhere.
A familiar smell can remind you of a place, a person, or a particular time in your life. Sometimes you don't even realise you've made that connection until you smell it again.
That's what we love about fragrance. You might smell the same scent as someone else, but it can mean something completely different to you.
So rather than telling you what a scent should make you feel, we'd rather leave that part to you.
Because we may create the scent, but you create the story.
Made by hand, in Singapore.
All our products are made here in Singapore, in small batches and by hand.
Our candles are hand-poured, and each fragrance product is prepared individually. It's a little more work, but we like being involved in the process from beginning to end.
We also work with ceramic artists in Indonesia to create our candle vessels. Each vessel is made by hand, so you'll find little differences in the shape, texture and finish of every piece.
We think those little differences are what make them special.
And when the candle is finished?
We didn't want the vessel to simply become another thing to throw away.
The ceramics take time to make, and we wanted them to have a life beyond one candle.
That's why we created our Full Circle Programme.
When you've finished your candle, you can return the vessel to us. We'll clean it, refill it with a new candle, and give you $20 off your next one.
It's a small way of keeping something good in use for a little longer.
So, why Mittsu Doru?
We don't think you need a reason to light a candle.
Sometimes it's to make your home smell nice. Sometimes it's part of your morning routine. Sometimes you just feel like it.
And that's enough.
We make scents and everyday objects that we hope you'll enjoy in your own way — whether they become part of a familiar ritual or simply make an ordinary Tuesday a little nicer.
